Matières Grises - Les gris, laidgris, laitgris…
Le gris connote, pour certains, le triste, pour d’autres, le sale; pour d’autres encore le terne, le monotone, l’endeuillé. Le chromatisme en lui trépasse. C’est ainsi que Malcolm de Chazal définit le gris : « le styx des couleurs ». Le gris traîne cette triste réputation et utilisation depuis nombre de siècles.
Pour autant, ne pourrait-on ré- informer l’usage et la signification du gris ? Du triste au joyeux, du monotone au varié, du terne à l’étincelant, du morne au surprenant !

My aim is to change how we use the colour grey and what it signifies: moving it from sadness to joy, from dull to dynamic and from darkness into the light.
